Narrative:
This trip was my first with a new company. The first time into teb, and my passenger arrived 45 mins early. The ATIS was advertising runway 01 as the departure runway. Upon calling for taxi clearance, the tower switched runways, they were now using runway 24. I was the PNF. I tried reading the new departure procedure and run the checklist while we were taxiing to runway 24. The tower kept calling asking if we were ready to go, which added to the stress. I misread the initial altitude on departure. We climbed to 2000 ft instead of 1500 ft. The departure controller pointed our error. In the future, if I ever get into a similar situation, I will not takeoff until both pilots are fully briefed, so this situation doesn't happen again.
