Narrative:
Aircraft was investigated by me for a hydraulic leak from left engine driven hydraulic pump. Using data from current maintenance manual, released aircraft for service for leak that I determined was within limits. After aircraft departed, technician services was called to advise them of parts needed. Technician then informed me that the limits did not apply to where the pump was leaking from.

Title: A B757 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH A L ENG DRIVEN HYD PUMP LEAK OUT OF MAINT MANUAL LIMITS.
Narrative: ACFT WAS INVESTIGATED BY ME FOR A HYD LEAK FROM L ENG DRIVEN HYD PUMP. USING DATA FROM CURRENT MAINT MANUAL, RELEASED ACFT FOR SVC FOR LEAK THAT I DETERMINED WAS WITHIN LIMITS. AFTER ACFT DEPARTED, TECHNICIAN SVCS WAS CALLED TO ADVISE THEM OF PARTS NEEDED. TECHNICIAN THEN INFORMED ME THAT THE LIMITS DID NOT APPLY TO WHERE THE PUMP WAS LEAKING FROM.
