Narrative:
During my crew rest we got redispatched to ewr with the proper amount of fuel of 29.7 pounds. The entry on the master flight plan was the totalized fuel amount which was about 900 pounds less. By the time I returned and realized that, I was given a direct routing to alb and we were showing more than planned at destination. I notified dispatch of our new status. During the last 1 hour 30 mins of the flight, the winds increased by 90 KTS of sustained headwind and the FMC was showing 7.8 for landing. I notified dispatch and requested priority handling, they agreed. When captain returned and was advised, he declared 'minimum fuel' with ZBW. Then new york approach wanted to vector us around and when we declined they declared an 'emergency' for us, but they never really gave us any priority handling. We landed with 6.1 pounds and blocked in with 5.9 pounds.
