Narrative:
Air carrier X was an sdf departure, sdf-strep-rod. Aircraft Y was an overflt at 16000 ft. Air carrier X was stopped at 15000 ft. At strep air carrier X would have made a turnoff over 60 degrees right. Air carrier X was issued FL230 and present heading to avoid the right turn and stay in front of aircraft Y. Conflict alert went off and the instructor had the frequency. Supplemental information from acn 626170: radar trainee misjudged that assigned vector would provide 5 mi separation. I was warning other circumstances in the sector and failed to hear/notice that a climb clearance had been issued to the aircraft #1. Supplemental information from acn 626303: I was the 'D' side. I had just relieved another controller. I did a pointout, then went back to the scope. Seconds later conflict alert went off. I cannot say what the trainee did and or what the trainer did.

Title: AN INSTRUCTOR AND DEVELOPMENTAL ALLOWED A DEPARTING ACR OFF SDF TO CLB THROUGH THE ALT OF AN IFR M20P AT 16000 FT WITH LTSS.
Narrative: ACR X WAS AN SDF DEP, SDF-STREP-ROD. ACFT Y WAS AN OVERFLT AT 16000 FT. ACR X WAS STOPPED AT 15000 FT. AT STREP ACR X WOULD HAVE MADE A TURNOFF OVER 60 DEGS R. ACR X WAS ISSUED FL230 AND PRESENT HDG TO AVOID THE R TURN AND STAY IN FRONT OF ACFT Y. CONFLICT ALERT WENT OFF AND THE INSTRUCTOR HAD THE FREQ. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 626170: RADAR TRAINEE MISJUDGED THAT ASSIGNED VECTOR WOULD PROVIDE 5 MI SEPARATION. I WAS WARNING OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES IN THE SECTOR AND FAILED TO HEAR/NOTICE THAT A CLB CLRNC HAD BEEN ISSUED TO THE ACFT #1. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 626303: I WAS THE 'D' SIDE. I HAD JUST RELIEVED ANOTHER CTLR. I DID A POINTOUT, THEN WENT BACK TO THE SCOPE. SECONDS LATER CONFLICT ALERT WENT OFF. I CANNOT SAY WHAT THE TRAINEE DID AND OR WHAT THE TRAINER DID.
