Narrative:
When working this MEL I discovered debris under the lavatory dump valve and removed it. There was no damage to the valve and it operated properly. No other discrepancies were noted and I svced the lavatory and found no leaks. There is an airworthiness directive out on this system, and a task card should be used when repairing this system. The task card was not used in this case, hence the report.

Title: AN MD80 LAVATORY LEAK WAS CORRECTED BY CLEANING THE DUMP VALVE. NO DUMP VALVE DAMAGE NOTED. LAVATORY SVCED. NO LEAKS FOUND.
Narrative: WHEN WORKING THIS MEL I DISCOVERED DEBRIS UNDER THE LAVATORY DUMP VALVE AND REMOVED IT. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE VALVE AND IT OPERATED PROPERLY. NO OTHER DISCREPANCIES WERE NOTED AND I SVCED THE LAVATORY AND FOUND NO LEAKS. THERE IS AN AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE OUT ON THIS SYS, AND A TASK CARD SHOULD BE USED WHEN REPAIRING THIS SYS. THE TASK CARD WAS NOT USED IN THIS CASE, HENCE THE RPT.
