Narrative:
Go around was started on runway 36L mem due to severe turbulence on short final at 300 ft AGL from a line of WX 10 mi north of the field. At approximately 1000 ft AGL a gain of 35 KTS and a red windshear warning was encountered, windshear escape maneuver applied and successfully exited the shear. ATC assigned 030 degree heading and 3000 ft. This was into the storm and we were experiencing severe turbulence at the time. While struggling to control the aircraft we continued the turn to 180 degrees and elected to descend to 2000 ft to exit the WX as soon as possible and return to stable flight. Notified ATC of the deviation. We were obscured to ATC due to a transponder malfunction and the WX. Upon exiting the WX we had an uneventful landing to runway 36R mem.

Title: A B727 FLT CREW DEVIATE FROM THEIR CLRNC AFTER EXPERIENCING SEVERE TURB AND BAD WX AND AFTER GOING AROUND DUE TO WINDSHEAR.
Narrative: GAR WAS STARTED ON RWY 36L MEM DUE TO SEVERE TURB ON SHORT FINAL AT 300 FT AGL FROM A LINE OF WX 10 MI N OF THE FIELD. AT APPROX 1000 FT AGL A GAIN OF 35 KTS AND A RED WINDSHEAR WARNING WAS ENCOUNTERED, WINDSHEAR ESCAPE MANEUVER APPLIED AND SUCCESSFULLY EXITED THE SHEAR. ATC ASSIGNED 030 DEG HDG AND 3000 FT. THIS WAS INTO THE STORM AND WE WERE EXPERIENCING SEVERE TURB AT THE TIME. WHILE STRUGGLING TO CTL THE ACFT WE CONTINUED THE TURN TO 180 DEGS AND ELECTED TO DSND TO 2000 FT TO EXIT THE WX AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND RETURN TO STABLE FLT. NOTIFIED ATC OF THE DEV. WE WERE OBSCURED TO ATC DUE TO A XPONDER MALFUNCTION AND THE WX. UPON EXITING THE WX WE HAD AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG TO RWY 36R MEM.
