Narrative:
Aircraft system failure, pressurization. Shortly after leveloff at FL350, the right bleed trip off light illuminated. After completing the bleed trip-off checklist, the right bleed trip-off light illuminated again, and the procedure was completed again (with the right pack turned off). At approximately 2 mins later, the cabin altitude warning horn sounded, and we declared an emergency and began descent to 10000 ft. We decided to divert to ZZZ1 and initially given a heading and FL180 from ATC. We were then advised that all of the airports were unavailable and that ZZZ2 would be a suitable divert city. We agreed and landed safely at ZZZ. At gate arrival, we were informed by ground personnel that we had triggered military air support because of a fast and steep descent in airspace. We had no knowledge of that activity and proceeded with our emergency procedures as we felt necessary.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: B737-800 CREW WAS REQUIRED TO DO AN EMER DSCNT AFTER THE R PNEUMATIC BLEED TRIPPED OFF, AND THE ACFT COULD NOT BE PRESSURIZED ON A SINGLE PACK.
Narrative: ACFT SYS FAILURE, PRESSURIZATION. SHORTLY AFTER LEVELOFF AT FL350, THE R BLEED TRIP OFF LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AFTER COMPLETING THE BLEED TRIP-OFF CHKLIST, THE R BLEED TRIP-OFF LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN, AND THE PROC WAS COMPLETED AGAIN (WITH THE R PACK TURNED OFF). AT APPROX 2 MINS LATER, THE CABIN ALT WARNING HORN SOUNDED, AND WE DECLARED AN EMER AND BEGAN DSCNT TO 10000 FT. WE DECIDED TO DIVERT TO ZZZ1 AND INITIALLY GIVEN A HDG AND FL180 FROM ATC. WE WERE THEN ADVISED THAT ALL OF THE ARPTS WERE UNAVAILABLE AND THAT ZZZ2 WOULD BE A SUITABLE DIVERT CITY. WE AGREED AND LANDED SAFELY AT ZZZ. AT GATE ARR, WE WERE INFORMED BY GND PERSONNEL THAT WE HAD TRIGGERED MIL AIR SUPPORT BECAUSE OF A FAST AND STEEP DSCNT IN AIRSPACE. WE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THAT ACTIVITY AND PROCEEDED WITH OUR EMER PROCS AS WE FELT NECESSARY.
