Narrative:

After being pushed back from our ramp. I taxied straight ahead to the runway. After completion of all checklists, we were cleared onto the runway for takeoff. I went to line up the nosewheel with the center of the runway. I was unable to do so. At no time did we observe any annunciator lights. It became apparent that we had a nosewheel steering failure. Tower asked us if we needed any assistance. We replied no. I became concerned that we were going to force an aircraft to go around. I made the decision to exit the runway. After clearing the runway using free caster method we were informed that both nosewheels were flat. After coordinating with ground control, port authority/authorized, and maintenance, passenger were deplaned without incident or accident. Maintenance took control of the aircraft and towed it to the hangar. Reason for failure has yet to be determined.
