Narrative:
Didn't have time on a 30 min flight to write up a bunch of cabin stuff. She said fine, and she agreed to remain behind after the flight to clarify the items. She seemed pleased with me that I would agree to enter all her items, and the conversation was polite and professional. She then asked me if I knew if there was contract or company maintenance personnel in dtw. I told her I was not sure but thought they might be contract. Flight attendant #1 then said flight attendant #4 is planning for her next flight which goes to dtw. I thought this whole matter was rather strange but since she was on some special company committee, I was trying to help out and be cooperative. Catastrophic. This is what I feel needs to be addressed further. Flight attendant #4 got on this aircraft in dfw, and I am sure inspected her jumpseat. If her jumpseat was not retracting fully we should have had it fixed immediately. Flight attendant #4 openly told me in okc it was not her intent to delay the flight. But because of her not wanting to delay a flight, I unknowingly flew an aircraft for 2 legs which should have been fixed in dfw or okc. Flight attendant #4 chose to withhold this critical information from the captain and was making a safety of flight decision, which I feel is not her position. Supplemental information from acn 629308: flight attendant #4 entered and said 'I have a note for you, but don't look at it until after we leave.' I interpreted that as the note being of a personal nature, not work related. After the parking checklist, I became aware the note contained serious safety issues, to the extent they violated FAA rules.

Title: MD80 CAPT REQUIRED 2 FLT ATTENDANTS TO STAY AFTER THE FLT BLOCKED IN, TO CLARIFY CABIN DISCREPANCY.

FLT ATTENDANT #4 GOT ON THIS ACFT IN DFW, AND I AM SURE INSPECTED HER JUMPSEAT. IF HER JUMPSEAT WAS NOT RETRACTING FULLY WE SHOULD HAVE HAD IT FIXED IMMEDIATELY. FLT ATTENDANT #4 OPENLY TOLD ME IN OKC IT WAS NOT HER INTENT TO DELAY THE FLT. BUT BECAUSE OF HER NOT WANTING TO DELAY A FLT, I UNKNOWINGLY FLEW AN ACFT FOR 2 LEGS WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED IN DFW OR OKC. FLT ATTENDANT #4 CHOSE TO WITHHOLD THIS CRITICAL INFO FROM THE CAPT AND WAS MAKING A SAFETY OF FLT DECISION, WHICH I FEEL IS NOT HER POS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 629308: FLT ATTENDANT #4 ENTERED AND SAID 'I HAVE A NOTE FOR YOU, BUT DON'T LOOK AT IT UNTIL AFTER WE LEAVE.' I INTERPED THAT AS THE NOTE BEING OF A PERSONAL NATURE, NOT WORK RELATED. AFTER THE PARKING CHKLIST, I BECAME AWARE THE NOTE CONTAINED SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES, TO THE EXTENT THEY VIOLATED FAA RULES.
