Narrative:
We were doing a run-up at crq. Our space to the hold short line was enough to position another aircraft in toward the hold line. A warbird came at our plane, propeller-to-propeller. There was nowhere to move our aircraft. If we had moved, the warbird would have sheared our wing. Luckily, it stopped just in time. I believe that the warbird never saw us during his taxi because of the nose high attitude of the plane. If he had not stopped, our only recourse would have been to jump out of the plane. I think that if the warbird had made s-turns on his taxi, he would have seen us. We were the first in the run-up area and were almost done when this occurred, meaning he had ample time to see us.

Title: A CFI AND STUDENT, IN THE RUN-UP AREA OF CRQ IN A C172, REALIZED A TAXIING WARBIRD DID NOT HAVE THE FORWARD VISIBILITY TO SEE THEM AND WERE ABOUT TO JUMP FROM THE AIRPLANE WHEN THE WARBIRD STOPPED 6 FT AWAY, NOSE-TO-NOSE.
