Narrative:

First officer was landing in ord runway 14R. I was planning my exit point between T-7 to T-10. Upon landing rollout, the first officer and I both thought we have been told to 'take 27.'' I read back 'take 27.' approaching intersection runway 27L at about T-10 ATC told us to stop. We stopped short of taxiway M and exited left on taxiway M. Confusion in terminology caused both the first officer and I to misinterp tower's instructions to 'take T-7' rather than 'take 27.'
