Narrative:

While changing an MD80 main tire, I was unaware of different torque values of different axle nuts. I didn't realize that the axle nut on aircraft X was different from other company MD80's. I did not see the mechanic take apart the hub and axle nut to notice. When he put it back together I noticed 1 screw only on the axle nut that was safely was to the nut. We torqued the axle nut to company maintenance manual, wheel and tire torque values.
