Narrative:
At mexico city, we were next for takeoff when tower said to taxi into position and hold. After about 100 ft tower said to stop. He said that he told us to taxi into position and hold after landing traffic. The first officer and I never heard the after 'landing traffic' part. The first officer read back the clearance to position and hold and tower never said anything. The aircraft on the approach went around and we took off without incident.

Narrative: AT MEXICO CITY, WE WERE NEXT FOR TKOF WHEN TWR SAID TO TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD. AFTER ABOUT 100 FT TWR SAID TO STOP. HE SAID THAT HE TOLD US TO TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD AFTER LNDG TFC. THE FO AND I NEVER HEARD THE AFTER 'LNDG TFC' PART. THE FO READ BACK THE CLRNC TO POS AND HOLD AND TWR NEVER SAID ANYTHING. THE ACFT ON THE APCH WENT AROUND AND WE TOOK OFF WITHOUT INCIDENT.
