Narrative:
My student and I were flying a cross country from sln to mci for a touch-and-go, then a full stop at mkc. After the touch-and-go at mci, we were vectored to mkc and told to contact tower. We entered the pattern for runway 1 as authority/authorized and made an uneventful landing, turning off at taxiway D between runways 3/21 and 1/19,. These intersection runways are very close to one another and the stop lines are about 10 ft apart. We turned off and held prior to the lines rather than between them. I later realized that this was a runway incursion, but no one was landing/departing runway 3, and tower made no comment on the incident. Still this is undoubtedly a confusing set of markings, particularly for low-time pilots.
