Narrative:
We were cleared into position and hold on runway 24. We saw a low flying airplane on a close base/final approach. We stopped short of the runway, but on or over the hold short line. We asked the tower about the traffic and the controller told us to hold our position. The other airplane was then cleared to land and did successfully. The tower then told the other pilot that controller was going to call his base turn for him. He (the other pilot) just flew his normal pattern. If we didn't see the airplane and stop, he would have needed to go around. On a side note, when we were arriving to arb, we were asked to extend our downwind. We then asked the tower to call our base turn. They called our base and we didn't have any problems.

Title: THE PLT OF A KING AIR WITH A POS AND HOLD CLRNC SIGHTED A LNDG ACFT ON SHORT FINAL AND HELD SHORT WHILE THE ACFT LANDED IN FRONT OF HIM.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED INTO POS AND HOLD ON RWY 24. WE SAW A LOW FLYING AIRPLANE ON A CLOSE BASE/FINAL APCH. WE STOPPED SHORT OF THE RWY, BUT ON OR OVER THE HOLD SHORT LINE. WE ASKED THE TWR ABOUT THE TFC AND THE CTLR TOLD US TO HOLD OUR POS. THE OTHER AIRPLANE WAS THEN CLRED TO LAND AND DID SUCCESSFULLY. THE TWR THEN TOLD THE OTHER PLT THAT CTLR WAS GOING TO CALL HIS BASE TURN FOR HIM. HE (THE OTHER PLT) JUST FLEW HIS NORMAL PATTERN. IF WE DIDN'T SEE THE AIRPLANE AND STOP, HE WOULD HAVE NEEDED TO GO AROUND. ON A SIDE NOTE, WHEN WE WERE ARRIVING TO ARB, WE WERE ASKED TO EXTEND OUR DOWNWIND. WE THEN ASKED THE TWR TO CALL OUR BASE TURN. THEY CALLED OUR BASE AND WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBS.
