Narrative:
During descent we had a smoke light come on at which time the first officer did the forward equipment smoke checklist. After 5-10 mins, the smoke light went out and we landed at ZZZ. I advised ATC of our problem and we needed to get the aircraft on the ground as soon as possible. Supplemental information from acn 634485: ATC gave us expedited handling to an uneventful landing in ZZZ. Emergency equipment and personnel met aircraft as it cleared runway and checked equipment compartments for smoke. After clear signal, we proceeded to gate.
