Narrative:

While on an ILS approach to runway 20L at pdk I was asked by the tower if I could accept runway 20R. I looked and thinking I had the runway, I accepted the changeover and was cleared to land. I knew that runway 20R was shorter than runway 20L so I set up for a short field landing, but by the time I realized I was looking at a taxiway, I had deployed full flaps. I saw that nothing was moving to the left or the right of the taxiway and that I had room to stop safely, I landed. I felt it was safer to land and stop than try a go around at that point. In retrospect, I should have never accepted a changeover in haze that close into a landing.

Title: A C414 PLT ACCEPTED A RWY CHANGE ON SHORT FINAL IN HAZE AND LANDED ON A PARALLEL TXWY.

Narrative: WHILE ON AN ILS APCH TO RWY 20L AT PDK I WAS ASKED BY THE TWR IF I COULD ACCEPT RWY 20R. I LOOKED AND THINKING I HAD THE RWY, I ACCEPTED THE CHANGEOVER AND WAS CLRED TO LAND. I KNEW THAT RWY 20R WAS SHORTER THAN RWY 20L SO I SET UP FOR A SHORT FIELD LNDG, BUT BY THE TIME I REALIZED I WAS LOOKING AT A TXWY, I HAD DEPLOYED FULL FLAPS. I SAW THAT NOTHING WAS MOVING TO THE L OR THE R OF THE TXWY AND THAT I HAD ROOM TO STOP SAFELY, I LANDED. I FELT IT WAS SAFER TO LAND AND STOP THAN TRY A GAR AT THAT POINT. IN RETROSPECT, I SHOULD HAVE NEVER ACCEPTED A CHANGEOVER IN HAZE THAT CLOSE INTO A LNDG.
