Narrative:

Due to miscom between flight crew and cabin crew, 5 half weights (children) were entered on the weight and balance manifest. Whether those 5 passenger should have been counted as half weights or adults was later questioned. This discrepancy would have resulted in an overweight landing of approximately 400 pounds. The maximum landing weight of the aft is 41226 pounds. The flight was otherwise normal and uneventful. This event occurred because of a breakdown in CRM during a very busy, quick turnaround of a flight that was already 1 1/2 hours delayed. The lesson to be learned is that in busy, high workload environments, it is especially important to have clear communication and take the time to verify critical information.
