Narrative:
Upon doing a return audit on aircraft X, I discovered the landing gear exceeded the calendar recommended time change. Since aircraft Y and aircraft X were inducted into the company at the same time by the same person, I immediately performed an audit of aircraft X's landing gear. I discovered that the computer maintenance program and aircraft records did not coincide with each other. While performing an in-depth audit, it was confirmed that the aircraft landing gear did overrun its time change by over a yr due to improper dates. I immediately informed the director of operations to cease any flts of this aircraft including the return to flight back to ZZZ until this matter was addressed by all. As disclosure in the statement above addressing aircraft X, the factors contributing to this have been disclosed including the corrective action. All aircraft records concerning life limited components have been audited and these 2 aircraft are the only ones to have this problem. I have implemented new conformity check for the company at which this was the tool that identify these infractions.
