Aircraft called for clearance while airborne. I issued the clearance and thought that I departed the aircraft. Then forgot about him while doing other ATC duties.

Narrative: ACFT CALLED FOR CLRNC WHILE AIRBORNE. I ISSUED THE CLRNC AND THOUGHT THAT I DEPARTED THE ACFT. THEN FORGOT ABOUT HIM WHILE DOING OTHER ATC DUTIES.
