Narrative:

I was flying to pdk. After landing, I roll out on the runway, at the same time the tower asked me about parking place on the airport. I got off on taxiway F. At this point, I was close to the hold short line for runway 20R. I did think the tower cleared me to cross runway 20R. My readback was clear to cross runway 20R remain in this frequency (in a conversation with tower supervisor she tell me that the recorder said to hold short) for some reason the controller fail to correct my readback on time. I cross the runway limits of runway 20R where a piper cherokee was on landing roll. The tower call me. About 1/2 of my plane body on runway 20R when I stop and using reverse. I pull back to taxiway hold short line. At point the piper was taxiing out on the runway, probably with a good 1500-2000 ft separation. I think this type of situation could be solve with more attention from both side -- tower and pilot.

Title: AN AC960 PLT MISUNDERSTOOD A HOLD SHORT CLRNC AND TAXIED ONTO AN ACTIVE RWY WITH LNDG TFC.

Narrative: I WAS FLYING TO PDK. AFTER LNDG, I ROLL OUT ON THE RWY, AT THE SAME TIME THE TWR ASKED ME ABOUT PARKING PLACE ON THE ARPT. I GOT OFF ON TXWY F. AT THIS POINT, I WAS CLOSE TO THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 20R. I DID THINK THE TWR CLRED ME TO CROSS RWY 20R. MY READBACK WAS CLR TO CROSS RWY 20R REMAIN IN THIS FREQ (IN A CONVERSATION WITH TWR SUPVR SHE TELL ME THAT THE RECORDER SAID TO HOLD SHORT) FOR SOME REASON THE CTLR FAIL TO CORRECT MY READBACK ON TIME. I CROSS THE RWY LIMITS OF RWY 20R WHERE A PIPER CHEROKEE WAS ON LNDG ROLL. THE TWR CALL ME. ABOUT 1/2 OF MY PLANE BODY ON RWY 20R WHEN I STOP AND USING REVERSE. I PULL BACK TO TXWY HOLD SHORT LINE. AT POINT THE PIPER WAS TAXIING OUT ON THE RWY, PROBABLY WITH A GOOD 1500-2000 FT SEPARATION. I THINK THIS TYPE OF SIT COULD BE SOLVE WITH MORE ATTN FROM BOTH SIDE -- TWR AND PLT.
