Narrative:

In range 100 NM from mci; received ATIS landing runway 1L and runway 1R. Multiple closures of runway 9/27 and txwys. Very inclusive list of many txwys stated; very difficult to understand but sorted out the txwys to use. After landing slowed to stop; in control on runway; taxied off on taxiway we saw as A4. However exit was for A5; which was not treated and was ice and slippery. As we rolled out; tower gave multiple taxiway instructions which further confused and aggravated the situation. We maintained control of the aircraft and transitioned to inner 'B' taxiway and continued to gate. Controller advised us that taxiway A5 was closed and we proceeded with caution. We notified tower that A4/A5 runway exit signs were not clear as to which taxiway to use (a 90 degree turn and a high speed turn). We further inspected the airport 1L runway/taxiway layout for signs and found no sign for A4 by taxiway A4. No incident occurred other than exiting off runway on taxiway A5 instead of taxiway A4. Better signage for taxiway A4 exit and tower advising the txwys to use as they did the following arrival who also started to use taxiway A5.

Title: A B717 CREW HAD A TXWY INCURSION WHEN THE CREW EXITED ONTO THE WRONG TXWY.

Narrative: IN RANGE 100 NM FROM MCI; RECEIVED ATIS LNDG RWY 1L AND RWY 1R. MULTIPLE CLOSURES OF RWY 9/27 AND TXWYS. VERY INCLUSIVE LIST OF MANY TXWYS STATED; VERY DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND BUT SORTED OUT THE TXWYS TO USE. AFTER LNDG SLOWED TO STOP; IN CTL ON RWY; TAXIED OFF ON TXWY WE SAW AS A4. HOWEVER EXIT WAS FOR A5; WHICH WAS NOT TREATED AND WAS ICE AND SLIPPERY. AS WE ROLLED OUT; TWR GAVE MULTIPLE TXWY INSTRUCTIONS WHICH FURTHER CONFUSED AND AGGRAVATED THE SIT. WE MAINTAINED CTL OF THE ACFT AND TRANSITIONED TO INNER 'B' TXWY AND CONTINUED TO GATE. CTLR ADVISED US THAT TXWY A5 WAS CLOSED AND WE PROCEEDED WITH CAUTION. WE NOTIFIED TWR THAT A4/A5 RWY EXIT SIGNS WERE NOT CLR AS TO WHICH TXWY TO USE (A 90 DEG TURN AND A HIGH SPD TURN). WE FURTHER INSPECTED THE ARPT 1L RWY/TXWY LAYOUT FOR SIGNS AND FOUND NO SIGN FOR A4 BY TXWY A4. NO INCIDENT OCCURRED OTHER THAN EXITING OFF RWY ON TXWY A5 INSTEAD OF TXWY A4. BETTER SIGNAGE FOR TXWY A4 EXIT AND TWR ADVISING THE TXWYS TO USE AS THEY DID THE FOLLOWING ARR WHO ALSO STARTED TO USE TXWY A5.
