Narrative:
We now have the possibility of MEL landing gear retraction system deferral concurrent with discrepancy log main landing gear door(south) missing. Both have several penalties; including performance; speed; altitude; and increased fuel burn. This was the case when I had ferry flight in january. Dispatch; maintenance and crj fleet manager gave me the technical support to operate this ferry to ZZZ1 for maintenance. With their concurrence; I determined that the best method was to use the most conservative of the restrs; then added both increases in fuel burns to the total fuel required. The way I planned this flight was more than likely much more conservative with more fuel than necessary. However; with the absence of the correct way to combine penalties for multiple items missing on the same system; I did not see a safer way. In retrospect; I believe that written guidance and procedures should be obtained from the manufacturer or engineering as to the proper penalties to apply for revenue or ferry flight in this situation.
