Narrative:
I cannot positively identify the aircraft whose wake was crossed; but the only aircraft showing above us (acas) was 15 to 20 mi away. In the neighborhood of the pxv VOR; a sharp jolt in an otherwise smooth ride was felt. There was no autoplt disconnect; nor were there any injuries. Seat belt sign was off and the cabin crew were attending to passenger. They made no comment on the event. My only concern was the fact that this has occurred in rvsm with an unidentified aircraft and wonder what the level would have been had the aircraft been a B747 or the new A380. This could have been a significant event.
