Narrative:
Air carrier aircraft X; inbound flight XXXX; outbound flight YYY; jan/sun/05. Due to confusion on my part; the above mentioned aircraft/flight did not receive a required check (daylight version). The normal scheduled equipment type is a B737-800. As per air carrier operations bulletin xx-xx; which was issued jan/wed/05; the B737-800 no longer requires this check unless it remained on ground for 5 hours or more. The next day (today; jan/mon/05); bulletin #yy-yy was issued which does away with the requirement for that check. When I realized that a mistake had been made; I notified my supervisor.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: DUE TO A PLANE CHANGE REQUIRING DIFFERENT EQUIP FROM A B737-800 TO A B757-200; A PREFLT MAINT CHK WAS NOT ACCOMPLISHED ON THE B757.
Narrative: ACR ACFT X; INBOUND FLT XXXX; OUTBOUND FLT YYY; JAN/SUN/05. DUE TO CONFUSION ON MY PART; THE ABOVE MENTIONED ACFT/FLT DID NOT RECEIVE A REQUIRED CHK (DAYLIGHT VERSION). THE NORMAL SCHEDULED EQUIP TYPE IS A B737-800. AS PER ACR OPS BULLETIN XX-XX; WHICH WAS ISSUED JAN/WED/05; THE B737-800 NO LONGER REQUIRES THIS CHK UNLESS IT REMAINED ON GND FOR 5 HRS OR MORE. THE NEXT DAY (TODAY; JAN/MON/05); BULLETIN #YY-YY WAS ISSUED WHICH DOES AWAY WITH THE REQUIREMENT FOR THAT CHK. WHEN I REALIZED THAT A MISTAKE HAD BEEN MADE; I NOTIFIED MY SUPVR.
