Narrative:
After takeoff from ZZZZ; we could not retract the landing gear. The gear handle would not raise past the 'off' position. We accomplished the QRH procedure for 'gear lever will not move up after takeoff.' the gear was raised using the gear override trigger and all indications were normal. During the takeoff roll; we had noticed some vibration from the nosewheel and a slight smell of rubber coming in from the air conditioning. The smell was probably from one of the air conditioning packs due to the high outside air temperature and the use of maximum power for takeoff. The runway in ZZZZ was checked for any tire remnants and none were found. However; to be safe; we declared an emergency for our arrival into ZZZ and had the crash fire rescue equipment vehicles standing by to check the gear after landing. The landing in ZZZ was uneventful. We had the gear checked by crash fire rescue equipment personnel and then proceeded to the gate to park.

Title: FLT CREW OF B737-800 ARE UNABLE TO RAISE GEAR LEVER AFTER TKOF. FOLLOW QRH PROC TO RETRACT AND DECLARE PRECAUTIONARY EMER UPON LNDG AT DEST. LAND WITHOUT INCIDENT.
Narrative: AFTER TKOF FROM ZZZZ; WE COULD NOT RETRACT THE LNDG GEAR. THE GEAR HANDLE WOULD NOT RAISE PAST THE 'OFF' POS. WE ACCOMPLISHED THE QRH PROC FOR 'GEAR LEVER WILL NOT MOVE UP AFTER TKOF.' THE GEAR WAS RAISED USING THE GEAR OVERRIDE TRIGGER AND ALL INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL. DURING THE TKOF ROLL; WE HAD NOTICED SOME VIBRATION FROM THE NOSEWHEEL AND A SLIGHT SMELL OF RUBBER COMING IN FROM THE AIR CONDITIONING. THE SMELL WAS PROBABLY FROM ONE OF THE AIR CONDITIONING PACKS DUE TO THE HIGH OUTSIDE AIR TEMP AND THE USE OF MAX PWR FOR TKOF. THE RWY IN ZZZZ WAS CHKED FOR ANY TIRE REMNANTS AND NONE WERE FOUND. HOWEVER; TO BE SAFE; WE DECLARED AN EMER FOR OUR ARR INTO ZZZ AND HAD THE CFR VEHICLES STANDING BY TO CHK THE GEAR AFTER LNDG. THE LNDG IN ZZZ WAS UNEVENTFUL. WE HAD THE GEAR CHKED BY CFR PERSONNEL AND THEN PROCEEDED TO THE GATE TO PARK.
