Narrative:
We were at cruise at FL350. The captain had just gone back on his break and a flight attendant called saying they smelled smoke around door 2L-right. I called the captain and he proceeded back to check it out. He smelled it as well and shut down the chillers. The odor was said to dissipate. Approximately 5 mins later; the flight attendant called up again and said it had returned. At this time I did the emergency check for cabin fire or smoke. The captain returned to the cockpit. We declared an emergency with center. We checked our closest airports and decided on ZZZ. We were approximately 320 mi. We continued at maximum speed and landed overweight at 325000 pounds. The crash fire rescue equipment had us shut down the engines and inspected the brakes and gave us the all clear to the gate. At the gate; maintenance came on and went through the cabin with a heat detecting device and found nothing.
