Reporter states: cylinder baked for 6 hours instead of the 12 hours it required. Supervisor instructed the crew to bake part for 6 hours. The authority/authorized requires a 12 hour bake. Confusion in shop due to re-write of the work sheets utilized for process authority/authorized; engineering is currently merging sheet information into the program.

Title: A SHOP TECHNICIAN RPTS A CYLINDER WAS REQUIRED PER THE SHOP WORK SHEET TO HAVE 12 HRS HEAT TREATMENT. SUPVR DIRECTED HEAT FOR 6 HRS.
Narrative: RPTR STATES: CYLINDER BAKED FOR 6 HRS INSTEAD OF THE 12 HRS IT REQUIRED. SUPVR INSTRUCTED THE CREW TO BAKE PART FOR 6 HRS. THE AUTH REQUIRES A 12 HR BAKE.
