Narrative:
We were informed by the inbound crew of a minor cabin seat writeup. During the briefing; we discussed the need for a new mrd before taxi; and the problem we have been having at ZZZ getting mrd's in a timely fashion. After pushback; we were distraction by a catering supervisor on the ramp who was apparently trying to communicate with us. By this time we had waited over 30 mins for an mrd. By the time we ascertained that the person on the ramp did not have anything for us; the mrd had slipped our mind. We taxied and took off without a current mrd. Recommendations: 1) do not push back without mrd; or 2) develop a memory aid to ensure receipt of mrd before taxi; or 3) get maintenance to send mrd in a timely fashion.
