Narrative:
Our passenger were late and I was the PNF this leg. The PF came in from the ramp where he was waiting with the APU running. He was anxious to leave; it was going to be the end of a 4 day trip. I think he was tired; and he is xx yrs old. He went back to the aircraft after some remarks about the passenger being late. I walked the passenger to the aircraft and before I got them in the plane; he had started the #2 engine. By the time I got strapped in; the PF had both engines running and had called ground control for our taxi clearance (not our normal SOP). He said he was taxiing out on the parallel and holding short of taxiway south for runway 12L; 'I know where we're going.' I proceeded to go through the checklist and about 2 mins later; ground control said 'nxxx stop! You missed taxiway south and are on another runway; contact tower 118.2.' needless to say; this was very upsetting and dangerous. I should have stopped the PF before we left the ramp because of the deviation from the SOP. I know better than to let 'get homeitis' get in the way of controling the aircraft. Contributing factors: PF age; gets tired after long days; gets in a hurry. I will talk to our chief pilot about resolving this issue.
