Narrative:
We had an MEL on the aircraft for 1 anti-ice valve stuck open. After arriving at the gate and shutting down the engines; the outbound first officer; who had just done a walkaround; said the engine nacelle lips were hot on the side with the anti-ice valve stuck open. We turned off the APU bleed air to rectify the situation. Upon further review of the MEL; I found that the MEL procedure said that the engine bleed air switch should be turned off when APU air on and engines shut down. I think this was overlooked as the procedure was several pages after the MEL listing and was not readily apparent.
