Narrative:
On may/tue/05; on aircraft; the APU was running in the hangar. During said run; one of the hangar air conditioning cloth socks was partially inducted into the APU inlet. The APU was shut down by the mechanic in the cockpit; and said cloth sock was removed and inspected for damage; as well as the APU inlet. APU was restarted; and ran for several mins. APU ran normal. At this time did not realize partial induction needed to be documented. After being informed it needed to; I promptly informed maintenance control of the issue; which they notified base to inspect APU upon arrival tonight.
