Narrative:
Student was told to hold short of runway by control tower. Student acknowledged tower instruction. As instructor; I had to apply brakes to keep airplane from crossing hold short line. Student did not see lines on pavement because they are faded because of age and tire wear from a special event recently held on airport. The faded hold short lines are on north side of runway 6. Problems could be reduced by painting new hold short lines on north side of runway.
