Narrative:
Myself and co-worker were taxiing north from the maintenance hangar to the gate for the morning departure. Earlier I had noticed that there was 30 pounds of fuel in the center fuel tank. 1 hour later; when we got into the aircraft to take it to the gate; I noticed that there was 600 pounds of fuel in the center fuel tank. I called the crew chief and notified him about the problem. This is word for word how the radio call went: I said; 'has the primary fuel ejector modification been done on this aircraft?' which was the first cause for the leakage that came to my mind. The old ejectors were cracking and causing leakage into the center tank. The crew chief then replied; 'I don't know; I would have to look it up.' I then said; 'I was wondering because it is leaking a lot of fuel into the center tank.' he then replied; 'I don't have time to look into this right now.' so after that; we took the plane to the gate. The aircraft never flew out. The crew saw the quantity of the center tank and then wrote it up in the aircraft maintenance log.

Title: A CRJ700 BEING TAXIED TO THE TERMINAL FOR A MORNING TRIP RPTS FUEL LEAKING INTO CTR TANK. ACFT WAS REMOVED FROM SVC WHEN FLT CREW DISCOVERED FUEL DRAINING INTO CTR TANK.
Narrative: MYSELF AND CO-WORKER WERE TAXIING N FROM THE MAINT HANGAR TO THE GATE FOR THE MORNING DEP. EARLIER I HAD NOTICED THAT THERE WAS 30 LBS OF FUEL IN THE CTR FUEL TANK. 1 HR LATER; WHEN WE GOT INTO THE ACFT TO TAKE IT TO THE GATE; I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS 600 LBS OF FUEL IN THE CTR FUEL TANK. I CALLED THE CREW CHIEF AND NOTIFIED HIM ABOUT THE PROB. THIS IS WORD FOR WORD HOW THE RADIO CALL WENT: I SAID; 'HAS THE PRIMARY FUEL EJECTOR MODIFICATION BEEN DONE ON THIS ACFT?' THE CREW SAW THE QUANTITY OF THE CTR TANK AND THEN WROTE IT UP IN THE ACFT MAINT LOG.
