Pilot wrote up windshield heat failure on EICAS. Performed procedures according to the fim and operations check good and found no defects at that time after multiple test performed. Need more descriptive guidelines for handling and returning to service aircraft with repeat discrepancies.

Narrative: PLT WROTE UP WINDSHIELD HEAT FAILURE ON EICAS. PERFORMED PROCS ACCORDING TO THE FIM AND OPS CHK GOOD AND FOUND NO DEFECTS AT THAT TIME AFTER MULTIPLE TEST PERFORMED. NEED MORE DESCRIPTIVE GUIDELINES FOR HANDLING AND RETURNING TO SERVICE ACFT WITH REPEAT DISCREPANCIES.
