Narrative:
Shortly after takeoff in a stiff (20 KT) crosswind we go an ACARS message. Due to the critical phase of flight we did not look at the ACARS until flaps were up. The message said our weights were wrong and to stand by for new figures. Unfortunately we were already airborne. When we got the correct weights; 31 mins after we pushed back and 16 mins after takeoff; we found that the mac was 29.7 vs 31.9 from the incorrect weight message which we received 5 mins before. This is the second time that this had happened to me while leaving ord in the last three months. This time I noticed no unusual sensations during takeoff but I am very concerned about the safety of this operation.
