Narrative:
While aircraft was parked at gate in ZZZ; ramp personnel drove a baggage tug into the right wing while loading bags for flight. The visible damage from the collision was a gouge and hole in the leading edge slat. Maintenance towed the aircraft off the gate to the hangar for repairs.

Title: A BAGGAGE TUG WAS DRIVEN INTO AN MD80 LEADING EDGE SLAT.
Narrative: WHILE ACFT WAS PARKED AT GATE IN ZZZ; RAMP PERSONNEL DROVE A BAGGAGE TUG INTO THE R WING WHILE LOADING BAGS FOR FLT. THE VISIBLE DAMAGE FROM THE COLLISION WAS A GOUGE AND HOLE IN THE LEADING EDGE SLAT. MAINT TOWED THE ACFT OFF THE GATE TO THE HANGAR FOR REPAIRS.
