Narrative:
I was assigned on an 'a' check on aircraft and my job was to grease the lower grease joints on the landing gear trucks. I used aeroshell 33. I was notified by air carrier auditors that I used the wrong grease; and the work card had changed. While trying to find the new grease; royce 11 ms; our local stores did not stock the new grease; and the aircraft departed. Maintenance control was notified; and a deferred item work order was issued to re-grease the trucks. Technical services was notified to have the trucks re-greased. No service bulletin was released on the grease change; and local management had no knowledge of this change; and local stores did not stock the grease.
