Narrative:
Aircraft #1 was vectored swbound and instructed to climb from 4000 ft to 6000 ft when aircraft #2 was instructed to climb to 5000 ft on a converging vector. The disparate climb rates resulted in a loss of minimum separation.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: N90 TRACON CTLR EXPERIENCED OPERROR AT APPROX 5000 FT WHEN MISJUDGING CLB RATES OF THE 2 ACFT INVOLVED.
Narrative: ACFT #1 WAS VECTORED SWBOUND AND INSTRUCTED TO CLB FROM 4000 FT TO 6000 FT WHEN ACFT #2 WAS INSTRUCTED TO CLB TO 5000 FT ON A CONVERGING VECTOR. THE DISPARATE CLB RATES RESULTED IN A LOSS OF MINIMUM SEPARATION.
