Narrative:
At XA00; was dispatched to the line to pick up aircraft and check in due to a fluctuating N2 indication on #1 engine. We brought the aircraft to the hangar. We proceeded to carry on with the troubleshooting. In the process I slid the 2 center instrument panels aft to gain access to the connector and wiring. We megged out the wiring from the pylon to the N2 tachometer indicator shaking all the wiring looking for a short; which requires removing the N2 tachometer indicator. All items were reinstalled by me. I did not know I had done any wrong until monday morning when maintenance called me and told me there was a fact finding meeting and what it was about. In retrospect; I should have written up the indicator and instrument panels to remind myself they need checked on reinstallation or in case I had to turn over to someone else.
