Narrative:
Departing ZZZ the aircraft started a moderate vibration at rotation. Believing we blew a nosewheel tire; we elected to leave the gear down. After following aom vol I checklists; we contacted system operations center/maintenance operations center for further input. During our fuel/time calculations to figure out approximately how long it would take to get under our landing weight; it was discovered that we had unintentionally and accidentally departed ZZZ over our zero fuel weight (ZFW). ATC advised us that an inspection turned up tire debris on the departure runway. After burning the required fuel; we declared an emergency and returned to ZZZ without further incident. After landing; we found the left main inboard (#2) tire had failed. Although these two events (tire malfunction/over ZFW) happened on the same flight; the mzfw issue had nothing to do with the tire malfunction. This is due to the fact that the tire is rated above 48501 pounds and during no time did we exceed mtow or mlw. Both were considerably lower. Be more aware of loading that can cause a flight to exceed ZFW. Program to FMS fuel page to turn the ZFW to a different color or have it flash when it is exceeded for that aircraft type.

Title: FAILURE MAIN GEAR TIRE CAUSES CREW TO REVIEW TKOF DATA. FLT CREW DISCOVERS TKOF WAS MADE ABOVE MZFW.
Narrative: DEPARTING ZZZ THE ACFT STARTED A MODERATE VIBRATION AT ROTATION. BELIEVING WE BLEW A NOSEWHEEL TIRE; WE ELECTED TO LEAVE THE GEAR DOWN. AFTER FOLLOWING AOM VOL I CHKLISTS; WE CONTACTED SYS OPS CTR/MAINT OPS CTR FOR FURTHER INPUT. DURING OUR FUEL/TIME CALCULATIONS TO FIGURE OUT APPROX HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE TO GET UNDER OUR LNDG WEIGHT; IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT WE HAD UNINTENTIONALLY AND ACCIDENTALLY DEPARTED ZZZ OVER OUR ZERO FUEL WT (ZFW). ATC ADVISED US THAT AN INSPECTION TURNED UP TIRE DEBRIS ON THE DEP RWY. AFTER BURNING THE REQUIRED FUEL; WE DECLARED AN EMER AND RETURNED TO ZZZ WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. AFTER LNDG; WE FOUND THE L MAIN INBOARD (#2) TIRE HAD FAILED. ALTHOUGH THESE TWO EVENTS (TIRE MALFUNCTION/OVER ZFW) HAPPENED ON THE SAME FLT; THE MZFW ISSUE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TIRE MALFUNCTION. THIS IS DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE TIRE IS RATED ABOVE 48501 LBS AND DURING NO TIME DID WE EXCEED MTOW OR MLW. BOTH WERE CONSIDERABLY LOWER. BE MORE AWARE OF LOADING THAT CAN CAUSE A FLT TO EXCEED ZFW. PROGRAM TO FMS FUEL PAGE TO TURN THE ZFW TO A DIFFERENT COLOR OR HAVE IT FLASH WHEN IT IS EXCEEDED FOR THAT ACFT TYPE.
