Narrative:
On sep/fri/05; aircraft X was in the hangar with a damaged r-hand inboard flap. We were to remove the damaged flap panel and install a new one. During the installation procedure; I dropped 2 skin wedges inside the r-hand inboard flap track fairing. I was unable to immediately retrieve them from inside the flap track fairing because I was on top of a ladder; holding a fairly large panel while my co-worker was trying to line the panel up to the flap. By the time we were done positioning the panel; I had completely forgotten about the 2 skin wedges. On sep/sat/05; I remembered that I had left 2 skin wedges in the flap track fairing and notified my supervisor. He made a call to have somebody in ZZZ1 look inside the flap track fairing.
