Narrative:

During the weight and balance procedure; the computer program dropped the weight of passenger in rows 1 through 12 and the error was not realized until after takeoff. The discrepancy totaled 10800 pounds; resulting in a higher actual takeoff weight than what was entered in the FMGS and weight and balance report. However; both the ZFW cg and the takeoff cg's were accurate. The program apparently accepted the total passenger count for cg purposes; but then excluded the passenger count in rows 1 through 12 for its calculation of the total aircraft weight. The error was realized during flight; and the corrected weight was entered into the FMGS at that time. A corrected version of the weight and balance report was also submitted via ACARS. In the future; a more diligent approach to comparisons between the weight and balance report and the dispatch release estimated takeoff weight will be utilized by this flight crew.

Title: FLT CREW OF AN A320 DISCOVER AFTER TKOF THAT THE COMPUTER FAILED TO INCLUDE THE WTS OF ALL PAX IN ROWS 1 THROUGH 12.

Narrative: DURING THE WT AND BALANCE PROC; THE COMPUTER PROGRAM DROPPED THE WT OF PAX IN ROWS 1 THROUGH 12 AND THE ERROR WAS NOT REALIZED UNTIL AFTER TKOF. THE DISCREPANCY TOTALED 10800 LBS; RESULTING IN A HIGHER ACTUAL TKOF WT THAN WHAT WAS ENTERED IN THE FMGS AND WT AND BALANCE RPT. HOWEVER; BOTH THE ZFW CG AND THE TKOF CG'S WERE ACCURATE. THE PROGRAM APPARENTLY ACCEPTED THE TOTAL PAX COUNT FOR CG PURPOSES; BUT THEN EXCLUDED THE PAX COUNT IN ROWS 1 THROUGH 12 FOR ITS CALCULATION OF THE TOTAL ACFT WT. THE ERROR WAS REALIZED DURING FLT; AND THE CORRECTED WT WAS ENTERED INTO THE FMGS AT THAT TIME. A CORRECTED VERSION OF THE WT AND BALANCE RPT WAS ALSO SUBMITTED VIA ACARS. IN THE FUTURE; A MORE DILIGENT APPROACH TO COMPARISONS BETWEEN THE WT AND BALANCE RPT AND THE DISPATCH RELEASE ESTIMATED TKOF WT WILL BE UTILIZED BY THIS FLT CREW.
