Narrative:
First flight of day; XA00Z; dark. On preflight; did not see pitot cover or partial pitot cover. Cover was left on by station personnel. A previous pilot had reported same cover also left on aircraft approximately 1 week earlier and stated cover was missing the long 'flag' that hangs down and reads 'remove before flight.' in-flight; first officer's altimeter read approximately 200 ft above captain's. Right airspeed (first officer's) read approximately 5 KTS higher than captain's airspeed. No other operational irregularities. Part of a pitot tube cover; the last third (or aft portion of the cover); was found on the lower (main) left pitot tube; torn and hanging off tube near the tear of the tube on the postflt walkaround in daylight.
