Narrative:
Upon arriving at the lax airport; I was greeted by the FAA. 2 inspectors greeted us. One administrative; one maintenance. The maintenance inspector found 17 items he felt were deficient. This aircraft does not have an MEL; therefore; I put every item on a discrepancy list and grounded the aircraft. This event took place over 2 days. Approximately 2 hours the first day; and 5 hours the second day. 8 of our discrepancy items were found during a 2 hour unsupervised inspection by the FAA maintenance inspector. Many of the items the inspector found were items even he wasn't sure of. Not being an a&P or having any real maintenance experience; I could not discuss the issues with the inspector. This was the second time in 3 months that I was ramped by the los angeles FSDO. Although I don't have the numbers; I am told by my certificate holder that all aircraft should expect to be ramped any time they are in the los angeles area. And several have been. In the 2 yrs I have been flying for company X; I have only been ramped twice; both by the los angeles FSDO.
