Narrative:
DC10 cleared runway 8R at mia and after clearing; stopped on taxiway L10. On the asde and by observing from the tower; the aircraft appeared clear of runway 8R. However; when B767 started his takeoff roll; the amass alerted and B767 was aborted. The amass was in construction mode due to false alerts earlier with equipment in the clear zone; while in normal mode. DC10 never advised the tower he was not clear of the runway or why he stopped. Even after the amass alerted; DC10 still appeared clear of the runway on the amass.

Title: MIA CTLR ISSUED ABORT TO B767 AFTER RECEIVING AMASS ALERT ON DC10 THAT WAS CLRING RWY AT TXWY L10.
Narrative: DC10 CLRED RWY 8R AT MIA AND AFTER CLRING; STOPPED ON TXWY L10. ON THE ASDE AND BY OBSERVING FROM THE TWR; THE ACFT APPEARED CLR OF RWY 8R. HOWEVER; WHEN B767 STARTED HIS TKOF ROLL; THE AMASS ALERTED AND B767 WAS ABORTED. THE AMASS WAS IN CONSTRUCTION MODE DUE TO FALSE ALERTS EARLIER WITH EQUIP IN THE CLR ZONE; WHILE IN NORMAL MODE. DC10 NEVER ADVISED THE TWR HE WAS NOT CLR OF THE RWY OR WHY HE STOPPED. EVEN AFTER THE AMASS ALERTED; DC10 STILL APPEARED CLR OF THE RWY ON THE AMASS.
