Narrative:
Cleared to intercept localizer for runway 1L. Another carrier B737 traffic pointed out at 12 O'clock position and 5 mi base to final. Traffic and field in sight; cleared visual approach to runway 1R; other carrier cleared to runway 1L. On approximately a 6 mi final; we received a TCAS RA and then visually picked up another carrier aircraft at 2 O'clock high position crossing right to left. I complied with the RA. I turned west; descended slightly and leveled off. I then turned back east and intercepted a visual final for runway 1R. Landing was uneventful. Aircraft pointed out by approach and tower was not the aircraft we had in sight.

Title: B737 EXPERIENCED CONFLICT AT LAS DURING VISUAL APCH PROCS TO RWYS 1L-R WHEN INCORRECT PRECEDING ACFT POINTED OUT BY ATC WAS IDENTED.
Narrative: CLRED TO INTERCEPT LOC FOR RWY 1L. ANOTHER CARRIER B737 TFC POINTED OUT AT 12 O'CLOCK POS AND 5 MI BASE TO FINAL. TFC AND FIELD IN SIGHT; CLRED VISUAL APCH TO RWY 1R; OTHER CARRIER CLRED TO RWY 1L. ON APPROX A 6 MI FINAL; WE RECEIVED A TCAS RA AND THEN VISUALLY PICKED UP ANOTHER CARRIER ACFT AT 2 O'CLOCK HIGH POS XING R TO L. I COMPLIED WITH THE RA. I TURNED W; DSNDED SLIGHTLY AND LEVELED OFF. I THEN TURNED BACK E AND INTERCEPTED A VISUAL FINAL FOR RWY 1R. LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL. ACFT POINTED OUT BY APCH AND TWR WAS NOT THE ACFT WE HAD IN SIGHT.
