Narrative:
I was boating the searey at a high speed taxiway towards the peace bridge on the niagara river wbound towards lake erie. When taxiing towards the bridge; a vessel was approaching the same bridge span at high speed with a 5 ft wake trailing it. To avoid wake; we lifted off under the bridge and continued at 10-20 ft off of water till clear of bridge. After clear of the bridge; we continued the climb out. The vessel passed us simultaneously under the bridge at about 150 ft between us and equal distance for bridge abutment. I will avoid boating under bridges when possible due to potential wake damage and need for unintentional takeoff. When boating; a clear exit is necessary with the searey due to the light weight and short length.

Title: WHILE PRACTICING HIGH SPD STEP TAXIING; PLT OF SMA SEAPLANE ENCOUNTERS WAKE FROM BOAT AND TAKES EVASIVE ACTION BY TAKING OFF. WHILE DOING SO; IS FORCED TO PASS UNDER BRIDGE BEFORE CONTINUING CLB.
Narrative: I WAS BOATING THE SEAREY AT A HIGH SPD TXWY TOWARDS THE PEACE BRIDGE ON THE NIAGARA RIVER WBOUND TOWARDS LAKE ERIE. WHEN TAXIING TOWARDS THE BRIDGE; A VESSEL WAS APCHING THE SAME BRIDGE SPAN AT HIGH SPD WITH A 5 FT WAKE TRAILING IT. TO AVOID WAKE; WE LIFTED OFF UNDER THE BRIDGE AND CONTINUED AT 10-20 FT OFF OF WATER TILL CLR OF BRIDGE. AFTER CLR OF THE BRIDGE; WE CONTINUED THE CLBOUT. THE VESSEL PASSED US SIMULTANEOUSLY UNDER THE BRIDGE AT ABOUT 150 FT BTWN US AND EQUAL DISTANCE FOR BRIDGE ABUTMENT. I WILL AVOID BOATING UNDER BRIDGES WHEN POSSIBLE DUE TO POTENTIAL WAKE DAMAGE AND NEED FOR UNINTENTIONAL TKOF. WHEN BOATING; A CLR EXIT IS NECESSARY WITH THE SEAREY DUE TO THE LIGHT WT AND SHORT LENGTH.
