Narrative:
Deicing was completed and we copied down the deicing data which was relayed over the ground to cockpit interphone. We then completed the remaining items on the gate deicing checklist in the flight manual. As I was waiting for instructions to call the ramp for push clearance; we felt 2 shudders go through the airplane. Shortly thereafter; we were informed by the pushback crew that the airplane had accidentally been struck by the deicing crew causing damage to the right horizontal stabilizer. As a result; the passenger were deplaned via the jetway without incident and the aircraft was removed from service.
