Narrative:
Had low bleed temperature and anti-ice fail message. After troubleshooting we determined a faulty high stage valve was the problem. After removing the hsv we were concerned over a different part number for the removed valve and the installed one. We contacted base maintenance and maintenance control. After several hours of research; maintenance control assured us that the part number was interchangeable and that we would have it in writing when we returned home. Maintenance control also assured us he would take full responsibility if a problem existed. I was informed a few hours after I signed off job that the part was not interchangeable.
